Violations on this site are detected using AI-powered video analysis. While the system is highly effective at identifying stop sign violations, no automated system is perfect.
False positives — The AI may occasionally label a non-violation as a violation. For example, a vehicle that did stop but was partially obscured, or a vehicle making a legal turn.
False negatives — Some actual violations may not be detected, particularly at night, in heavy rain, or when vehicles are obscured by other traffic.
Speed estimates — Speeds are calculated from pixel movement across the camera frame and calibrated against known distances. They are approximate and should be treated as estimates, not precise measurements. Additionally, Valley Drive is two lanes in the same direction, and the near lane has less visibility due to a house partially obscuring the camera's view. The camera's perspective also means a vehicle in the far lane covers fewer pixels per unit of distance than one in the near lane. The system does not currently account for these differences, which can introduce small variations in speed estimates depending on which lane the vehicle is traveling in.
If you spot an incorrectly labeled clip, use the Flag button on the player controls to report it. Flagged clips are removed from the site but the original footage is preserved.
